Alberta Falls, is a popular hiking destinations iand widely regarded as one of the best waterfall hikes in the park. The scenic 30-foot waterfall thunders down a narrow gorge on Glacier Creek.

The Alluvial Fan is a fan-shaped area of disturbance. It was created on July 15, 1982, when the earthen Lawn Lake Dam above the area gave way, flooding the Park and nearby town of Estes Park with more than 200 million gallons of water. Enormous boulders were displaced, and trees and earth were ripped from the ground. Researchers are studying the success and composition of species in this area of the park as life returns to this barren area.

Bear Lake is the most popular hike. A gentle trails leads y around a small mountain lake, giving several very beautiful views of the surrounding mountains while also providing a taste of the lower end of Rocky’s subalpine zone.

The elk, or wapiti, is one of the largest species within the deer family, Cervidae, and one of the largest terrestrial mammals in its native range of North America and Central and East Asia.

Moraine Park was carved by ancient glaciers that flowed through the region. During the elk rut, from September to October, Moraine Park offers excellent views of the elk mating ritual. It is also a beautiful place to view wildlife and the sunset.

This pleasant lake is ringed by pond lilies.

​With close to 4000-acres, Roxborough State Park is filled with dramatic red-rock formations, distinct plant communities, and a variety of wildlife ranging from black bears to mule deer. Enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, trail running, photography, bird watching, or one of the many programs and events.

Sprague Lake is a scenic lake i located on the south side of Glacier Creek, about two miles south of the Hollowell turnoff. The half-mile walk around the lake ifeatures boardwalks and bridges with views of Flattop Mountain and Hallet Peak.
